2020 NCPA Annual Convention

According to information from August 13 The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Annual Convention in 2020 which was supposed to take place in Nashville, California, will be held in a webinar format and will be hosted at 18-19 October.

“We would love to see you in person, but the recent increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the country, including in Tennessee, has made travel difficult for our members and conference attendees. NCPA won’t let that stop us from putting on a great Annual Convention that you can attend from the convenience of your home” – NCPA reported.

National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) was founded in 1898 and includes about 250,000 members and more than 21,000 community pharmacies. Many hold local elected offices; others serve as state legislators. NCPA is the advocate for community pharmacists on the public policy issues that affect their patients and pharmacies.

Previous year The National Community Pharmacists Association Annual Convention & Expo were at San Diego, Calif. The main topic was “Changing The Pharmacy Payment Model,” which was represented across the conference educational and business program, as well as within the exhibit hall.

The 2019 meeting includes such topic as: Contracting. A mistake here can cost you thousands.; Cash flow management; Marketing with a purpose; Pharmacogenomics; Care planning; Team culture and staff utilization; Audit mitigation and many others.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation many pharmacy conferences change their format to the virtual experience. The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, ThoughtSpot by Good Neighbor Pharmacy and AmerisourceBergen for independent community pharmacies and long-term care pharmacies, all of these meetings become webinars with online registration.

87 Conferences For 2019

Only in 2019 were about 87 Clinical Trial, Pharma & Regulatory Conferences to attend in North America. Annually this meeting visited by tens of thousands of people. At the moment, such large gatherings of groups of people are not possible due to the progressive pandemic.

According to the association, the conference will continue to include “programs focused on answering hard-hitting questions on getting paid for the care pharmacists provide.”

Registration for the event opens August 28. For those who have already registered for the live meeting, there are options for refunding the registration fee. NCPA will be sending information via email. In the unfortunate event that the association is forced to cancel its 2020 Annual Convention, exhibitors may choose from the following options:

NCPA will roll over all your NCPA 2020 payments to secure exhibit space at NCPA 2021 at 2020 rates. Or NCPA will refund to the exhibitor all payments. If company choose the refund option, participation in NCPA 2021 will be at 2021 exhibit space rates and space is not guaranteed.

At this time of such uncertainty, we are striving to provide our exhibiting partners with necessary information to assist them in making sound business decisions in planning for NCPA 2020” – NCPA reported.
