On September 22, ValuCare Center finally announced results of “Health Mart Pharmacy of the Year“. Health Mart is an independent pharmacy franchise with more than 5,000 member pharmacies across all 50 states. Each pharmacy is locally owned and operated, allowing Health Mart pharmacy owners to tailor their offerings to the specific communities they serve. Thanks to that kind of management, Health Mart continued to hold a contest of “Health Mart Pharmacy of the Year.”
Last year Trumm Drug got award, a Health Mart pharmacy in Alexandria, Minnesota. They took the lead thanks to utilizing a medication synchronization program. Using this program helped enrolled more than 1,200 patients, which has increased its clinical ranking across a number of categories. Owners said – “Much of the pharmacy’s ongoing success is due to proactively implementing many of the Health Mart clinical and business performance solutions, including marketing tools from the Health Mart Marketing Hub – an online resource providing custom marketing templates.”
In 2020, the best Pharmacy of the Year became ValuCare Center, a Health Mart pharmacy in Marinette, WI. This title traditionally awarded to top-performing Health Mart pharmacies for superior clinical performance, high-touch patient relationships and proactive advocacy efforts. This year Steve Wilke, RPh, ValuCare owner, received the award during Virtual McKesson ideaShare.
ValuCare Center
Operating in Marinette for more than 45 years, ValuCare is the only locally owned, independent pharmacy serving the Marinette, Menominee, and Peshtigo area. Since 1998 Steve Wilke working in it as co-owner, but in 2013 he became a sole owner. Wilke, along with pharmacists Lisa Pardee, Nick Jackson and Jeff Hines are long-time residents of the area and active in many community organizations. Recently, ValuCare became a dementia-friendly business with the help of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Marinette County.

In his speech Steve Wilke said “While many pharmacies are closing down, we are rising to the occasion. Our community depends on us to provide quality healthcare, but we also care for them as individuals. And that’s the difference you’ll see at our store – we care.”
1,100 Patients Got Help During COVID-19
1,100 COVID-19 test collection were provided for patients in Wisconsin. ValuCare combines in itself an approachable community pharmacy with the technology solutions to deliver high-quality care to the Marinette area. The pharmacy team offers robust clinical services, like year-round vaccinations and compliance packaging.
