On September 17, 2020, VMLY & R announced that the Sudler will be officially closed at an international level.
VMLY & R was founded during the merger of the two companies VML (Valentine, McCormick, Ligibel) and Y&R (Young & Rubicam) in 2018. On October 2018 the Sudler network combined with VMLY&R, creating VMLY&R Health. VMLY&R was named one of the Top 20 healthcare marketing agencies by Medical, Marketing and Media (MM&M) magazine. During 2019, its first full year as a united entity, VMLY&R grew its health revenue to $100 million. That represents an 11% jump over the $90 million generated by the predecessor organizations in 2018.

Sudler & Hennessey (United States) was founded in 1934, by Arthur Sudler, and developed promotional and educational programs for a wide spectrum of healthcare companies. Communication programs produced by S&H on behalf of its largely pharmaceutical industry client base were directed to healthcare professionals as well as patients and their support networks.
New VMLY & Rx agency will cover the markets of the Sudler brand. This company will provide specialized services in the sector and will focus especially on companies that are developing innovative and specialized therapies and technologies.
