Good Neighbor Pharmacy
On their website was created topic – fearless pharmacy. AmerisourceBergen informed people about local pharmacies, and their actions against coronavirus infection.
“Tens of thousands of independent pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and staff members have been working tirelessly on the front lines to ensure their patients continue getting the care they need, even when things are at their most chaotic. They’ve adapted at lightning speed in the face of a fast-spreading pandemic to serve their communities in new and inventive ways,” – GN Pharmacy commented.
There are such actions as:
- Delivering about 600 gift bags (that contains a face mask, a pair of gloves, a bottle of compounded hand sanitizer) for a nearby apartment complex, which is home to a high percentage of elderly individuals.
- Created more than 1,350 face masks and distribute them to their customers and others in their community free of charge.
- Provide free personal protective equipment to healthcare workers in New York. They’re sourcing critical items, including three-ply surgical masks, through FDA-certified suppliers. Besides, they donated the vehicles being used to transport everything to the hospitals where they’re being distributed, etc.
COVID-19 Pharmacy Resource Center
Not long ago were confirmed, that all state-licensed pharmacists (and pharmacy interns acting under supervision of a licensed pharmacist) to order/administer all CDC recommended & FDA approved vaccines for children age 3-18 (pharmacists must meet requirements outlined in the HHS press release).
GN Pharma reacted for this statement and opened new COVID-19 Pharmacy Resource Center. “We applaud this positive development for pharmacists and children, reflecting HHS’ trust and recognition of pharmacists in providing patient care. This action also strengthens our arguments/legislative strategy to recognize pharmacists as providers within Medicare for providing flu and COVID-19 tests and immunizations,” – said in article.
“At Good Neighbor Pharmacy, we focus on helping pharmacists enhance relationships with their patients and communities, by providing services and programs that help our members connect with patients wherever they are, whether in-store or online,” said Jenni Zilka, Group Vice President, Good Neighbor Pharmacy Field Programs and Services.
“At AmerisourceBergen and Good Neighbor Pharmacy, we recognize the critical role that pharmacists play in patient health, and their role is growing as the health care system adapts to COVID-19 challenges. We are constantly evolving to support our pharmacies as they look to diversify their business beyond dispensing to support patients through other meaningful health and wellness services,” supplement Brian Nightengale, President of Good Neighbor Pharmacy and SVP, Community & Specialty Pharmacy at AmerisourceBergen.
