US Pharmacy Data

US Pharmacy Database for Marketing, Analytics & Healthtech

Nationwide coverage of retail, specialty, mail-order, long-term care, and hospital pharmacies. Updated weekly with identifiers, services, hours, and network participation.

Key Use Cases by Team (Marketing, Product, Data)

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturers building targeted retail and specialty campaigns.
  • Health insurance companies and PBMs analyzing network adequacy and competitive coverage.
  • Retail and specialty pharmacy chains planning locations and marketing territory.
  • Healthtech and analytics vendors powering locators, provider search, and market models.

Why a Dedicated US Pharmacy Database Matters

  • 50 states + territories, geocoded and normalized.
  • Daily/weekly refresh of NPI, services, and hours.
  • Ready for marketing, locators, analytics, and payer workflows.

What’s Included in the US Pharmacy Dataset

  • Name, address, phone, website, opening hours.
  • NPI, chain/brand, taxonomy, services.
  • Geocodes (lat/long), ZIP+4, county, state FIPS.
  • Network participation and plan tiers when available.

Coverage: States, Territories and Pharmacy Types

Retail, specialty, mail order, long-term care, compounding, institutional, nuclear, and clinic-based pharmacies with density stats per state.

Data Quality, Updates and Validation Process

  • Cross-referenced sources, automated QA, manual review.
  • Weekly deltas (adds/removals), monthly rollups, trend views.
  • Flags for missing phone/geo and potential duplicates.

Who it’s for

  • Marketing & outreach lists by geography and chain.
  • Locator and pickup experiences for healthtech.
  • Access, network, and competitive analytics.

How to Access the Data (CSV, API, Custom Exports)

CSV exports, API, GeoJSON, and custom delivery. Simple licensing with monthly or annual terms.

Build vs. buy: Skip scraping and manual refreshes. We maintain identifiers, geocodes, and network mapping so your team can focus on product and analysis.

Why teams choose our pharmacy data

  • Business-ready, not just raw files. Normalized chains, cleaned locations, and quality flags make it easy to plug into CRMs, BI tools, and data warehouses.
  • Coverage you can explain to stakeholders. Transparent counts, deltas, and trend reports show exactly what changed and where.
  • Direct support from the people who build it. You talk to data practitioners who understand pharmacy networks and healthcare workflows.

Available reports

Pharmacy Export (core)

Row-level registry of pharmacies as they appear in payer networks. Includes organization/DBA, address, phone/fax, lat/long, taxonomy, network participation, plan_networks plus plan_network_names, and boolean pharmacy-type flags (clinic, retail, compounding, home infusion, institutional, LTC, mail order, managed care, nuclear, specialty). Quality flags highlight missing_phone, missing_geo, and possible_duplicate signatures.

Use it to build maps, coverage dashboards, prospect lists, and joins to claims/contracting systems.

Pharmacy Coverage State

State-level counts from the export—one row per state per run. Great for density benchmarks, pharmacies-per-100k metrics, and executive dashboards.

Pharmacy Network Participation

Counts of participating pharmacies per network_id with network_name included. Deduped at (network, pharmacy). Rank networks, size footprints, and monitor changes over time.

Pharmacy Network State

Matrix of (network_id, state) counts with readable names—a pivoted coverage view to compare network strength across regions.

Pharmacy Top Chains

Top chains by NPI count with normalized chain names (e.g., CVS/Caremark, Walgreens/WBA, Walmart/Sam’s, Kroger/Fred Meyer, Albertsons/Safeway). Ideal for competitive landscape and partner targeting.

Pharmacy Monthly Delta

Adds/removals vs. prior export, overall and per state, with previous_run_id for traceability. Monitor churn/expansion and network changes month-to-month.

Pharmacy Trend State

Time series by run_date and state: counts plus deltas and previous_run_id. Drop into BI for coverage trajectories and regulatory trend reporting.

Pharmacy Trend Network

Network-focused trends: counts and deltas per run and network_id with names. Track expansion/contraction nationally.

Pharmacy Access Band

Distance-band view per state (0–5, 5–10, 10–25, 25+ miles) showing nearest-pharmacy distribution. Identify dense markets, service gaps, and adequacy hot spots.

Frequently asked questions

How often is the database updated?

We run weekly refreshes against our upstream sources, with additional checks when payers or regulators post new network and roster data. Most customers take weekly or monthly export runs depending on their workflows.

Can we start with only a few states or chains?

Yes. Many teams start with pilot geographies or specific chains to validate fit and then expand coverage once the data is embedded in their products or analytics stack.

Do you include every pharmacy type?

We cover retail, specialty, long-term care, mail order, hospital, clinic-based and other institutional pharmacies. Boolean pharmacy-type flags make it easy to include or exclude categories in downstream tools.

How do you handle duplicates and closed locations?

We combine automated QA with manual review and expose quality fields like missing_phone, missing_geo and possible_duplicate, plus delta and trend reports so you can track adds, removals and net changes between runs.
